Lumsden Wedding – Darlene & Trevor

I really do love to photograph weddings! I was thrilled when Trevor and Darlene emailed and asked me to photograph their ceremony and reception near Trevor's hometown of Deadman's Bay. Trevor and Darlene live in Labrador, and it's not every day that this whole family gets together on the gorgeous, sandy beaches of Central Newfoundland so the day seemed extra special to me. After a ceremony at Lumsden Beach, we spent a little time with the family before family portraits, couple portraits, and finally a reception at the Muddy Shag Lounge in Musgrave Harbour. These are a just few of my favorite photos from my day with them.

Trevor's sister officiated.

Darlene and Trevor sent me with cupcakes to go when I was done! Yum!

Gander Wedding – Getting Ready

Summer is here! And that means wedding season in Newfoundland and Labrador. While I won’t be booking any full weddings this summer, I’m very pleased to be taking bookings for 2020. Here are a few photos from a Central Newfoundland wedding last August. I worked with fellow photographer Jennifer Dawe to capture Samantha and Terry’s special day in Gander.  While Jennifer focused on Samantha and the ladies I captured the day from the perspective of the guys. Check it out. 🙂

Getting Married in Glovertown

I always admire people who take what they love to do and just get really good at it. No one makes you go into business for yourself and certainly no one can make you create art. But when you put something of your own creation 'out there', it represents a part of who you are. Some business owners take pride in that and strive to consistently produce work at a really high level. We're lucky in our area to have several really skilled women working in the wedding industry. I really wanted to celebrate that and show off the work of some of these women with a photoshoot. With the help of a beautiful model, I was able to create some images that I believe show off some the the best of what our area has to offer in the wedding field. You can see the results in the images below!

Central Newfoundland Wedding – Paula & Shane

This August, I had the pleasure of photographing Paula and Shane on their wedding day. I started the morning photographing the couple getting ready with their friends and family in two homes next door to each other in Benton. I was pleased to run into a couple familiar faces among the groomsmen (small community!)  But it wasn’t long before I got to meet everyone and I felt a connection with the people I had just met that day. I was genuinely excited to see Paula in her dress for the first time and to capture the reaction of everyone else as they saw her. We moved to the Salvation Army Church in Gander for the ceremony, and Cobb’s Pond before meeting up in Glovertown. We took a few photos around Glovertown including some at the beautiful new town centre. Finally, we moved to the Glovertown Lion’s Club where I photographed the speeches, the shoe game, the cake cutting, and the first dances. It was a beautiful day that won’t soon be forgotten!

Gander Wedding – Evelina & Patrick

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of assisting Gander photographer Andrew Harvey as he captured the wedding of Evelina and Patrick. I focused on the ladies getting ready (with Andrew’s wife Melissa giving me a hand) while he photographed the guys. It was a true family affair that made for a beautiful and emotional day. The ceremony was at the Salvantion Army Church in Gander, reception was at the Gander Curing Club. Since Patrick is a fireman, we took some photos at the fire hall with the trucks. The bride’s broach bouquet was handmade by Evelina, a wedding planner herself. It will certainly be a day to be cherished for the families. I hope my photos can help them to remember the occasion!
