Glovertown Wedding – Patricia & Dale

For my last job of summer 2024, I was lucky enough to be working at home in Glovertown. Patricia and Dale had seen my business on Facebook and reached out to ask me to cover their wedding day. We had a meeting before their wedding where I heard a little about their big family and we made some plans for the photo coverage.

On the wedding day, I visited both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen as they got ready at separate homes in Glovertown. Patricia and Dale were married by Reverand Vardy at Faith United Church. Their adult sons and daughters walked down the aisle with them as the bridal party. The wedding was witnessed by many smiling faces with more than a few happy tears shed among the guests. Following the ceremony, we visited Ken Diamond Memorial Park to take some photos of the bridal party, friends, and family. Then we were off to Patricia and Dale’s home for a sociable visit and a few candid photos. I finished the evening at the Alexander Bay Lion’s Club. The party and the dance was going strong when I called it a night around 10:00PM! What fun!

Centreville-Wareham-Trinity Wedding – Ashley and Stephen

For a Newfoundlander living away, there's nothing better than a trip back home with family and friends. Nothing better, of course, unless that trip is for your wedding!

Ashley and Stephen are a couple living in Ontario who decided to plan a wedding back home in Central Newfoundland. They connected with me through my Facebook page as they we're planning, and booked my photography for their August 2024 wedding. They planned their wedding in Centreville-Wareham-Trinity which is where Stephen is originally from.

The guys got ready in Centreville. The ladies got ready at the Indian Bay Cottages. The ceremony was at the Trinity Anglican Church. And the reception was at the Indian Bay Lions Club. Their day had a lot of overcast with some light rain and some pouring rain. We did manage to fit in a few outdoor photos near the Government Wharf while the rain was light. We made good use of their umbrellas as props. And the overcast sky made for some nice soft window light which you can see in the portraits of the bride and groom before the ceremony.

This whole group was lovely and inviting and fun. They were a delight to photograph. I'm looking forward to my next visit to this area! 🙂

Gander Wedding – Ashleigh & Joe

Exactly one month ago, on August 13, I was invited to a home in Gander to photograph the wedding of Ashleigh and Joe. Ashleigh and Joe live in Edmonton but they have a few Newfoundland connections, one of which being that Joe's family hails from Gambo. Many friends and family at the wedding were visiting from Edmonton. Among them was Ashleigh and Joe's beautiful baby daughter.

Ashleigh and Joe had a great group of people around them during their day and it was a pleasure to be welcomed by them and allowed to photograph their wedding! Even though I had never met any of them, I was encouraged to feel at home and to enjoy the day with the bridal party and guests. The day was HOT. The ceremony was beautiful. The food was delicious and the reception was lots of fun!

Here are my favorite photos that tell the story of the day. I hope you enjoy! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brentnall!

Twillingate Wedding – Chad & Nicole

Earlier this summer, I travelled to Twillingate for a full day of photography. It was wedding day for Chad Sweetapple and Nicole Cooze. I already knew Chad and Nicole because Chad went to high school with me and he and Nicole had been dating for quite a while. I also knew the best man and maid of honor and even attended their wedding (as a guest) where Chad and Nicole were both in the bridal party in 2017.

The whole event took place at Chad's mother's place in Twillingate. Chad and Nicole are kind and easy to get along with. It was a pleasure to spend the day with friends and get to know them even better. And come on, Twillingate is SO beautiful. I loved it.

Chad, Nicole, and friends and family: I hope you like this gallery of my favorite images from your special day. The rest are soon to follow!

Central Newfoundland Wedding – Natasha and Jonathan

April 9 2022: Natasha and Jonathan were preparing to walk down the aisle of St. Andrew's United Church in Deadman's Bay. I showed up early to take this shot of the empty church before anyone arrived.

Before long, the guys were there. Then, the ladies made their way inside and the ceremony began.

The couple's beautiful daughter played the role of flower girl.

While Jonathan's sister, Mandy helped to officiate.

This photo above, was one of my favorite from their day.

I like the energy here too!

We only took a handful of photos outside because it was not very warm out. Luckily, we had some nice simple locations for indoor group shots.

The wedding reception was at a place called The Muddy Shag in Musgrave Harbour. This place has a black ceiling so I really powered up my flash to get the bounced light nice and bright.

This was the last photo I took before I left!

Winter Family Portraits

I photographed a nice few family photo sessions earlier this winter. We had a beautiful snowy December this year so I was really pleased to get out and take some photos then because January and February were SUPER cold and family photoshoots were basically not an option. Lately, however, it’s been a lot more mild and the idea of going outside is not sounding so crazy anymore! SO, I thought I would now share a few of my favourite images my outdoor winter photoshoots. Here they are! 🙂

Gander Wedding – Evelina & Patrick

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of assisting Gander photographer Andrew Harvey as he captured the wedding of Evelina and Patrick. I focused on the ladies getting ready (with Andrew’s wife Melissa giving me a hand) while he photographed the guys. It was a true family affair that made for a beautiful and emotional day. The ceremony was at the Salvantion Army Church in Gander, reception was at the Gander Curing Club. Since Patrick is a fireman, we took some photos at the fire hall with the trucks. The bride’s broach bouquet was handmade by Evelina, a wedding planner herself. It will certainly be a day to be cherished for the families. I hope my photos can help them to remember the occasion!

Traytown Family Photoshoot

Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of photographing Scott, Krista and their two kids at Salty Bay Cabins in Traytown. It was a very cool shoot for me. Not only are the Broughtons great friends, but Salty Bay Cabins is a place I drive or walk by basically every day. It’s an area I have had in my mind for portraits for a while.

We were all available, the rain held off, and the owners gave us the go-ahead! We got some results that I am really pleased with!
