Centreville-Wareham-Trinity Wedding – Ashley and Stephen

For a Newfoundlander living away, there's nothing better than a trip back home with family and friends. Nothing better, of course, unless that trip is for your wedding!

Ashley and Stephen are a couple living in Ontario who decided to plan a wedding back home in Central Newfoundland. They connected with me through my Facebook page as they we're planning, and booked my photography for their August 2024 wedding. They planned their wedding in Centreville-Wareham-Trinity which is where Stephen is originally from.

The guys got ready in Centreville. The ladies got ready at the Indian Bay Cottages. The ceremony was at the Trinity Anglican Church. And the reception was at the Indian Bay Lions Club. Their day had a lot of overcast with some light rain and some pouring rain. We did manage to fit in a few outdoor photos near the Government Wharf while the rain was light. We made good use of their umbrellas as props. And the overcast sky made for some nice soft window light which you can see in the portraits of the bride and groom before the ceremony.

This whole group was lovely and inviting and fun. They were a delight to photograph. I'm looking forward to my next visit to this area! 🙂

Gander Wedding – Ashleigh & Joe

Exactly one month ago, on August 13, I was invited to a home in Gander to photograph the wedding of Ashleigh and Joe. Ashleigh and Joe live in Edmonton but they have a few Newfoundland connections, one of which being that Joe's family hails from Gambo. Many friends and family at the wedding were visiting from Edmonton. Among them was Ashleigh and Joe's beautiful baby daughter.

Ashleigh and Joe had a great group of people around them during their day and it was a pleasure to be welcomed by them and allowed to photograph their wedding! Even though I had never met any of them, I was encouraged to feel at home and to enjoy the day with the bridal party and guests. The day was HOT. The ceremony was beautiful. The food was delicious and the reception was lots of fun!

Here are my favorite photos that tell the story of the day. I hope you enjoy! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brentnall!

Getting Married in Glovertown

I always admire people who take what they love to do and just get really good at it. No one makes you go into business for yourself and certainly no one can make you create art. But when you put something of your own creation 'out there', it represents a part of who you are. Some business owners take pride in that and strive to consistently produce work at a really high level. We're lucky in our area to have several really skilled women working in the wedding industry. I really wanted to celebrate that and show off the work of some of these women with a photoshoot. With the help of a beautiful model, I was able to create some images that I believe show off some the the best of what our area has to offer in the wedding field. You can see the results in the images below!

Central Newfoundland Wedding – Paula & Shane

This August, I had the pleasure of photographing Paula and Shane on their wedding day. I started the morning photographing the couple getting ready with their friends and family in two homes next door to each other in Benton. I was pleased to run into a couple familiar faces among the groomsmen (small community!)  But it wasn’t long before I got to meet everyone and I felt a connection with the people I had just met that day. I was genuinely excited to see Paula in her dress for the first time and to capture the reaction of everyone else as they saw her. We moved to the Salvation Army Church in Gander for the ceremony, and Cobb’s Pond before meeting up in Glovertown. We took a few photos around Glovertown including some at the beautiful new town centre. Finally, we moved to the Glovertown Lion’s Club where I photographed the speeches, the shoe game, the cake cutting, and the first dances. It was a beautiful day that won’t soon be forgotten!
