Central Newfoundland Wedding – Paula & Shane

This August, I had the pleasure of photographing Paula and Shane on their wedding day. I started the morning photographing the couple getting ready with their friends and family in two homes next door to each other in Benton. I was pleased to run into a couple familiar faces among the groomsmen (small community!)  But it wasn’t long before I got to meet everyone and I felt a connection with the people I had just met that day. I was genuinely excited to see Paula in her dress for the first time and to capture the reaction of everyone else as they saw her. We moved to the Salvation Army Church in Gander for the ceremony, and Cobb’s Pond before meeting up in Glovertown. We took a few photos around Glovertown including some at the beautiful new town centre. Finally, we moved to the Glovertown Lion’s Club where I photographed the speeches, the shoe game, the cake cutting, and the first dances. It was a beautiful day that won’t soon be forgotten!

Gander Wedding – Evelina & Patrick

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of assisting Gander photographer Andrew Harvey as he captured the wedding of Evelina and Patrick. I focused on the ladies getting ready (with Andrew’s wife Melissa giving me a hand) while he photographed the guys. It was a true family affair that made for a beautiful and emotional day. The ceremony was at the Salvantion Army Church in Gander, reception was at the Gander Curing Club. Since Patrick is a fireman, we took some photos at the fire hall with the trucks. The bride’s broach bouquet was handmade by Evelina, a wedding planner herself. It will certainly be a day to be cherished for the families. I hope my photos can help them to remember the occasion!

Traytown Photoshoot – Festival Style

Janelle Burry is a mobile hairstylist based right here in Glovertown. She’s got a unique style that screams fun and screams summer! She’s going to be at Alexander Bay Days next weekend creating some festival and some futuristic makeup looks. You might see her (and me) there!

We celebrated festival season with a styled photoshoot featuring a Bohemian chic vibe and Janelle herself, a natural model!

Tell me what you think! Will you be at Alexander Bay Days? What’s your must-visit summer festival?

Self Portrait Challenge

In 2017 I was challenged by some friends at Nate & Nicole Education to take part in a year-long 52 image self portrait challenge. I’m really pleased to have completed the challenge, along some other great photographers. I believe it has made me a better photographer of myself and of other people. Check out a few of my favorite 2017 self portraits below.

Gander and Glovertown – Grade Twelve Portraits

I think grad photos are awesome. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event, so you absolutely want to record it with photos. When it comes to capturing what grade 12 is really like, however, photos from a more typical day may be your best bet. Photos at your favorite places in your normal clothes show a little more about you can create some beautiful and personal images. Just check out these shots of Olivia, Ally, and Isabella!

Traytown Family Photoshoot

Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of photographing Scott, Krista and their two kids at Salty Bay Cabins in Traytown. It was a very cool shoot for me. Not only are the Broughtons great friends, but Salty Bay Cabins is a place I drive or walk by basically every day. It’s an area I have had in my mind for portraits for a while.

We were all available, the rain held off, and the owners gave us the go-ahead! We got some results that I am really pleased with!

Eastport Photoshoot – Brooke and Kaitlyn

I've always loved the sort of happy-go-lucky energetic beach images that fill my Pinterest feed. I had some models willing to work with me so I figured I'd give the style a try! Much thanks to Kaitlyn and Brooke for spending one of the last days of summer with me!
